The West Virginia Soccer Recreation program provides the opportunity for boys and girls to develop basic soccer skills to improve their technique in a safe, fun and positive environment. Teams are typically organized by gender, grade and by town of play. Teams practice twice per week, generally held at a community school or park, and play their games on Saturday. Game locations may require additional travel within the county, depending on the number of teams formed in each town of play.

Frederick 4’s League Play: U7-U9

The Frederick Fours is our 4v4 co-ed league. We use the ‘Dual Field’ format of organizing teams for their game day experience. Teams of 10-12 players are created and then divided in half to play their opponent who does the same. The ‘half teams’ play on side-by-side fields (approx. 25 v 35 yards). At halftime, one team switches their ‘half teams’ so all the players play the ‘full’ team of their opponent. Games are 4 – 10 minute quarters. No scores or standings are published for this league. The Frederick Fours is the only MSYSA-sanctioned league using US Soccer recommended age-appropriate team sizes for the 7/8U player.

Hexaleague (H-League): U10

The HexaLeague is our 6-a-side league (5 field players and a goalie). Teams play 50 minute games (2×25 minute half) on approximately 35 yard by 55 yard fields. We use a single site for all games and consistent time slots to make family schedules easier to manage. No scores or standings are published for this league. The HexaLeague is the only MSYSA sanctioned league for 10U and younger players following the USYS recommended 6-a-side format deemed the most appropriate for player development.

Enrollment for this program is Open Registration. Our Recreation Program is intended to teach basic soccer skills to our youngest soccer players of all skills levels in a fun and positive environment.

Recreation Soccer Uniforms are ordered through Soccer.com. The uniform kit includes one dry fit jersey, featuring the club logo. 

New players will receive an email approximately a month prior to the program start date with instructions once all players have picked(or assigned) their numbers and Soccer.com is ready to accept orders.
